1. The first thing you need to do is empty your washing machine. Ensure nothing is inside whether it is water or clothes.
2. Open the washing machines detergent dispenser and pour bleach in it until it is full. On the side where you would put fabric softener, you should pour some white distilled vinegar in it. This will clean out the washing machine pipes and also the washing machine drum.
3. Put the washing machine on a 30 minute wash cycle with the water on the hottest setting and leave it until it is done. This will also get the bleach in the creases of the rubber seal that you cannot reach properly.
4. Once the 30 minutes are up the drum of the washing machine should be clean and you can focus on cleaning the rubber seal. The heat from the wash will also soften up the mold on the rubber seal.
5. Add 1 cup bleach and half a cup of white vinegar into a spray bottle and fill it with warm water. This is the cleaning solution you should use and spray into the creases of the rubber seal. Pull away some of the rubber both on the door frame and the washing machine gasket.
6. Once you did that take the toothbrush and scrub everything on the rubber seal and washing machine gasket until the mold is completely loose to where you can wire it off.
