When Im in a rush, I sometimes stop the dryer while the clothes inside are still slightly damp. I have also read that it is recommended to use lower heat settings to save energy.

Be sure to check clothes before folding and storing them to see if they are completely dry. It is helpful to let the clothes cool down first, as warm clothes appear dry when they are not.

Get Mildew Out Of Clothes With Hydrogen Peroxide
If lemon juice and vinegar dont take care of your mold and mildew-smell problems, its time to move on to the bleaching agents. But, before you use bleach with chlorine, you might want to give hydrogen peroxide a try.
Hydrogen peroxide is an oxygen bleach, which allows it to break down in the water. Peroxide wont pose as much of a threat to your fabric as chlorine bleaches might, and it still has reliable cleaning power against mildew.

Use a cotton swab to test the hydrogen peroxide on an inconspicuous area before treating your clothing with it. Fill the spray bottle with peroxide, and spray any mildew patches until thoroughly wetted. Scrub the patches with a toothbrush. Repeat if needed until the mildew or mold is gone, and wash the fabric.
Wash With Hot Water And Add Bleach When Possible
Youll get the most effective mold-eradication results when you use the hottest water allowed for the fabric type. Check your clothing labels to determine maximum allowable water temperature, and separate your clothes into temperatures to ensure that you wash all items in the hottest water they can take.
Bleach is an excellent addition to the wash for mold control, as well. As with water temperature, check your fabric labels, and separate the bleach-safe clothing to be washed with a little bleach. Itll make a huge difference and will cut through any mildew.

Removing Mold With Bleach
Dry Clean Only Clothes
Fabrics labeled as dry clean only that have mildew spores should be brushed outdoors using a soft bristle brush. If the fabric is napped like velvet or faux fur, brush gently in the direction the surface should lie.
After brushing, place the garment in a cotton or plastic bag to prevent spreading the spores and immediately take the garment to a professional dry cleaner. Point out and identify the stain to your cleaner.
If you decide to use a home dry cleaning kit, be sure to treat any visible stains with the provided stain remover before adding the garment to the dryer bag.

Taking your furniture outside and exposing the upholstery to sunlight achieves several objectives.
