  • Practice good ventilation. Open the bathroom window when showering. Turn on the exhaust fan when showering and leave it on for 30 minutes afterwards. Keep the bathroom door open when showering if possible.
  • Shower drains contain biofilm and cellulose materials such as soap scum, body hairs, and oils and lots of moisture so they can be a breeding ground for black mold. It is important to keep drains open and clear of cellulose materials. • After showering wipe down the entire shower including all your shampoo and soap bottle.
  • Once a week spray the shower with EC3 Mold Solution Spray to kill any new mold spores that may be trying to root.
  • Clean your shower from top to bottom every 14 days at a minimum. Weekly is better but no one has time for that! So shoot for every two weeks.

    Mold Cleaning Trick #: Vinegar

Vinegar has been found to kill 82% of mold species! Plus, it is great at preventing mold in the first place. Vinegar contains no toxic fumes like many other agents used to kill mold, such as bleach.

    • Pour mild white vinegar into a spray bottle, do not dilute with water. Vinegars acidic qualities make it quite deadly to mold, thats why you dont want to water it down.
    • Spray affected surface areas with straight vinegar solution and then wait one hour. If your bathroom has windows, open them up and let it air out during this time.
    • After an hour passes, use hot water and a clean towel to wipe the area. Make sure surfaces are dry to prevent mold from coming right back.

Vinegar isnt always strong enough to get rid of mold on its own, but it is great at preventing mold from growing in the first place. Keep that spray bottle of vinegar in your bathroom at all times and use it to spray surfaces prone to mold whenever they get wet. This makes it difficult for mold to grow, which means you wont have to waste time removing it in the first place.

The main reason black mold infests your bathroom is due to the humidity and plentiful supply of water. Such condition provides the perfect ground for mold development.

Water coming out from basin, bathtub, and shower will create wet surfaces that are claimed by black mold as the place for it to live in.

In addition to water supply, another cause of black mold infestation in the bathroom is related to the steam evaporation. If you like using warm or hot water in the shower, the chance of black mold growing in your bathroom increases.

Bleach does work on killing mold on non-porous surfaces such as tile or porcelain. It does not work on porous surfaces like wood or drywall. It also only kills the mold on the surface. Bleach does not reach the roots, which means the mold will grow back.

And Product : Mold Mildew Cleaner Gel

Here is a very common thing to see. My old mid-80s white tile in my guest shower and bathroom has accumulated black mold over the years. And of course, I have been lazy at cleaning it, and my roommates I had didnt clean it either.

Normal shower and bathroom cleaning mold and mildew removable sprays would not work. All the scrubbing in the world wouldnt work.

Then I found this Mold MildewCleaner Gel from Gelivable. It was a bit expensive but worth it. I liked the idea of the cleaning gel staying put on the grout instead of running down and not staying on the actual black moldy grout lines.

To use the gel, remove the cap, and then squeeze a bead of gel over the moldy areas. The gel will stay put. Then all you do is allow it to work its magic. Allow it to stay on the black mold for at least 5 hours, you may need to let it stay even longer.

This black mold spot on my shower tile had been there for many years. So I left the gel on for about 8 hours.

The results were absolutely remarkable. Years of caked-on hard-to-clean, stubborn black mold, gone. Next, all you do is wipe it off with a damp paper towel or washcloth and then rinse it really well.

There you have it, method 1 is a super success for this particular type of black mold situation.

    Mold Removal From Fabric

Its easier than you might think for clothes to attract mold and mildew. A forgotten load of laundry in the washing machine, the pile of clothes at the bottom of a closet, or even the armchair in a humid room can all quickly become overrun with mold. However as long as you catch the problem early, your fabrics can still be saved.

    Bleachable fabrics

If you can apply bleach to a fabric without worrying about discoloration, do it. Thats the fastest and most effective way of getting rid of mold. Many laundry bleaches can be used on white and colorfast fabrics, although you should always check the instructions, and never use bleach on wool or silk. Simply apply a solution of one part bleach to three parts water and let it absorb into the fabric for a few minutes before laundering as usual.

    Non-bleachable fabrics

For fabrics that cant be bleached, use white vinegar instead. Either apply white vinegar to a cotton pad and place it on top of the stain for five minutes before laundering, or briefly soak in a solution of ¼ cup vinegar to one gallon water. Rinse through to remove the vinegar and launder as normal.

Bathroom surfaces, particularly tile around the tub and shower, tend to be mold and mildew incubators because of the heat and moisture that accumulate there. But you can usually remove the unwanted substances easily using white vinegar in combination with baking soda as a scouring agent.

    Black Mold Removal Using Vinegar

White vinegar is a mildly acidic product that cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects. It can also kill 82% of mold species, including black mold, on porous and non-porous surfaces. You can use it safely on most surfaces, and its offensive odor goes away quickly.

Pour undiluted white vinegar into a spray bottle. Because white vinegar contains only about 20% acetic acid, adding water makes it less effective. Spray the vinegar onto the moldy surface and leave for an hour. Finally, wipe the area clean with water and allow the surface to dry. Any smell from the vinegar should clear within a few hours.
