Get The Air Circulating
If your bathroom has a window, leave it open or cracked as often as you can to allow air to circulate through the space. Youll also want to use an exhaust fan to keep air moving and your bathroom dry when you shower or bathe.
Leave your ventilation fan on for at least 30 minutes after you shower or take a bath, too. If you dont have an exhaust fan in your restroom, consider getting one installed.
Regularly Disinfect With Vinegar
There is one little additional trick. Take a spray bottle and fill it with a 50/50 mixture of water and white distilled vinegar. Each time after your bath or shower, spray this mixture onto the tile grout and leave it. The vinegar will do a lot in terms of disinfecting and killing mold spores before they grow into full-blown mold.
How To Remove Mold From Showercaulking
The ideal thing you can do to remove black mold in shower caulking is to remove the caulking altogether and apply new high-quality mold resistant caulking like this one. This is important because a good mold resistant caulk will help prevent water damage and mold from happening behind your tile and shower walls.
This is actually easier than itsounds. Even I can handle doing this. While it doesnt take long to actuallyremove and replace the shower caulk, it does require you to let it dry properlybefore using your shower again.
Dont want to remove and replace the shower caulk? You can try this mold removal method but it is time consuming and usually doesnt get more than 50-60% of the mold.

How To Clean Mold From Bathroom Ceiling
If you see mold spreading across your bathroom ceiling, you need to do two things. First, identify the source. Is there a leak above the bathroom? If so, eliminate the leak before cleaning mold from the bathroom ceiling. If the mold is caused by moisture in the bathroom, consider adding an exhaust fan or running a dehumidifier to reduce heat and dampness.
The next step is to clean the mold from the bathroom ceiling. Start by spraying the area with a vinegar solution. If the ceiling is coated with paint or another finish that allows for scrubbing, spray the vinegar directly on the ceiling and wipe with a clean rag. If not, you will need to scrape off and replace the affected ceiling area. Removing a textured ceiling covered in mold is a job better left to mold removal specialists, as it requires special ventilation masks and protective clothing.

Ways To Remove Mold From Shower Grout
Option 1: Use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to clean the shower. Be sure to wear gloves and a protective mask so you dont breathe in the spores. Mix some baking soda with water to create a paste and apply to the affected area of pink or black mildew. Then spray some peroxide over the paste. Finally, scrub with a brush and rinse with water. Repeat if necessary.
Option 2: Use distilled white vinegar. This is a natural product and usually doesnt cause the grout to discolor or fall apart. Use a spray bottle to soak the mildew area with vinegar. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then scrub if necessary. Rinse with warm water and wipe the shower dry.
Option 3: Use chlorine bleach. You will need to make sure the area is well ventilated and wear a mask when working with bleach. If you have colored grout, do not use this option. Using a spray bottle with 1 part bleach to 2 parts water, spray the black, orange or pink mildew. Let the bleach sit for at least 30 minutes and then carefully scrub with a brush. Rinse with water and pat dry.
Option 4: Use a commercial cleaner. There are many products on the market that will help clean fungus off your grout. They usually come in a spray bottle and require the solution to sit on the area for a specified amount of time. As with bleach, be sure to use protective gear when working with chemicals to clean black, pink, and orange mildew.
Must Pay Attention Points
When you follow any process of these, you need to pay attention to some matters and need to know some basics. If you do that, you can do your cleaning work more efficiently and can save you time.
- You should always soak the shower tiles surface for an hour. It will help the grout to sit the cleaning solution, and then you can easily remove the dirt. You think that, when you clean stubborn stains from cloth, you used to soak it for sometimes. Then it becomes easier to clean the cloth. Itâs similar to your tiles.
- It is good to avoid metallic brush to clean shower tiles. Besides, do not use steel wool. All the tiles have a certain softness level. So, when you use a metallic brush, it will affect the upper layer of the tiles. So, to avoid damages of the tiles and grout, avoid metallic brush.
- When you use water after cleaning the surface of the tile, try to use warm water. It is good for two reasons. First, you can wash the greasy things from the surface easily with warm water. Second, warm water reacts with the solution such as baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice, as an air cleaner. Besides, warm water kills the mold.
- You can use natural essential oil with the cleaning solution. It helps to make your bathroom fresh and smell good.

To remove mold that is already present in your shower grout, you can do one of two things. If you prefer to use the quickest, most effective and easiest method, use bleach. If you prefer a more natural approach with less chemicals, use baking soda.
- Mix 4 parts water to 1 part bleach in a spray bottle. Spray all areas of mold in shower grout lines until they are thoroughly wet. Wait 30 minutes and then use an old toothbrush to scrub the grout lines clean. The mold should clean up pretty easily after the soaking time. Be sure to keep a window open for adequate ventilation when working with bleach! Rinse the grout and surrounding tile thoroughly with warm water.
- Mix a paste of baking soda and water, and apply it in a thick layer to moldy grout. Wait half an hour, then use a stiff bristled brush to scrub the grout. The mild abrasiveness of the baking soda will help to remove the mold from the grout. Rinse thoroughly.
Once your grout is mold-free, there are some things you can do to help prevent it from returning.

Always Run An Exhaust Fan While Showering
Almost every bathroom is outfitted with an exhaust fan. It is important to run the exhaust fan both during and after using the shower or bathtub to eliminate excess moisture and humidity. If your bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, try to shower with the window cracked or leave the door cracked open to allow moisture to escape.
Use Hydrogen Peroxide To Clean Mold
Hydrogen peroxide a highly effective fungicide and whitening agent, may do the trick when all other mold removal methods fail.
You can make a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide and spray it on the affected area, but for better results you need to apply the peroxide directly over the grout:
- Mix hydrogen peroxide with white flour to create a thick paste. Apply the paste to the grout and allow it to work overnight before rinsing well with cold water
- Apply a thick baking soda paste to the moldy area . Pour hydrogen peroxide over the paste so that it begins to fizz this will help loosen the mold. Scrub with a stiff bristle brush, then rinse away with water. Repeat as needed.
Do you need help cleaning the tiles and grout in your home?
There is no doubt that the best way to clean mold from grout is to use natural cleaning agents. Tips For Deep Cleaning Your Bathroom Shower
Spring cleaning starts with a deep clean your shower and bathtub.
Next time youre deep cleaning your bathroom tiles, pull this recipe from your memory bank:
Start by creating a paste-like mixture using one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts of an oxygenated powder product, such as OxiClean or generic washing soda. The thick combination of these powerful ingredients will adhere to the grout lines in your shower without dripping away and spot-treat areas affected by mildew and mold. Its not too harsh to use as a defense against spores, either, so even if the grout doesnt look dirty, consider applying it as an effective cleanser that will aid in preventing mold from blossoming. If you look at ingredients in many of the heavy-duty mold abatement products, youll spot that hydrogen peroxide is a common ingredient, so its no surprise that this at-home solution works really, really well.
How To Remove Mold With Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the most effective natural cleaning agents. Due to its acidic nature, it creates an environment that inhibits bacteria growth.
At the first signs of mold on the grout, mix equal parts distilled white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and generously spray the affected area. Wait for 30 minutes, then scrub the surfaces with a bristle brush and rinse with warm water. For best results, repeat the process several times.
You can use tree tea oil in roughly the same way use two teaspoons of the products to every cup of water you add in the spray bottle, spray the moldy surfaces, and wait for several hours before rinsing with clear water.
Make sure you keep the windows open to ensure good air circulation and counter the strong smell of the vinegar or the tea tree oil.
If the mold growth is extensive, however, these natural products wont be strong enough to remove it.
