The main cause of the black-colored mold is dampness and lingering moisture. Getting rid of it is simple but should be done keenly and with great care as it may be toxic and quite hazardous.

Apply a paste of white vinegar and baking soda then rub it on the black mold on the bathroom sealant. Scrub with a stiff-bristled brush then rinse with a cold, wet sponge dipped in white vinegar before drying with a piece of microfiber clothing. Do not rinse with water.

Mold is prevented by keeping surfaces dry and aired such as wiping them dry after a shower and turning on the fan for at least 30 minutes.

    What Is Black Mold

Mold spores form in the air and drop onto surfaces. If they drop on to moist surfaces, they become a breeding ground for mold to grow. This mold is often black but is usually not the same harsh black mold that can appear in other places in the home. There are many different types of black mold and this one can usually be easily removed.

    Create A Vinegar Solution

There are a few solutions you can use to remove black mold from your bathroom, but its best to start with the ones that are the safest. Vinegar is a natural, non-toxic mold killer.

Its powerful enough to remove mold and mildew from a wide variety of surfaces, including shower caulk. For starters, you need a clean, empty spray bottle and some vinegar.

You can pour the vinegar into the bottle without diluting it. If you dont water it down, it will deliver a better result. Spray the mold-covered areas with vinegar.

This solution doesnt smell that nice, but the odor should clear within 2 hours. If your bathroom mold problem is a bit more serious, dont rinse the vinegar away after youre done.

But, if your mold problem isnt so big, and you dont want your shower to have an unpleasant scent, you can mix the vinegar with a bit of water.

You wont compromise the antifungal power of vinegar by much if you add a bit of water, but you will reduce the pungent smell. This is also a better option for those who have a larger area to clean as theyll have more liquid to work with.

You can also add a bit of baking soda to the mix. But be careful. When you mix vinegar and baking soda, the baking soda will foam up with carbon dioxide gas, which might make a mess.

    What Didnt Remove Mold

When we first moved to our current house, I did a little research and experimented with a number of methods touted to remove mold from shower caulk. Im sure there are even more techniques than the ones listed below, but heres what did not work for me:

    • Saturating the affected area with straight ammonia. This may be incredibly effective, but personally, I detest the smell too much to even try. And since I often use bleach when cleaning I figured it was better just to stay away from this one completely since combining bleach and ammonia produces toxic gas.
    • Spraying with vinegar. This method proved completely worthless for my situation, although I believe it has some merit as a mold preventative. I do love vinegar for glass cleaning though! Take a look at this DIY cleaner I use.
    • Making a baking soda paste with water. I found this only minimally effective on tough mold. Baking soda is a great natural cleaner, though, and the gentle abrasiveness was good for cleaning the tile and some mildewy spots.
    • Combining baking soda and vinegar. Lets talk about this for a minute because I see this combination recommended all the time online. Baking soda and vinegar cancel each other out. This is just basic chemistry, yall. Combining baking soda and vinegar produces carbon dioxide and salty water .

Black Mold Is Stable And Doesnt Disappear

How to clean Bathtub Mold quickly & easily WITHOUT SCRUBBING!

If the black mold is stable and doesnt disappear, in this case you need to use bleach. Soda is also considered a good remedy. Fumes are dangerous, so do not forget personal protective equipment.

Take bleach and soda until the consistency becomes like a paste. The more pasta, the better the result. In the area where you put the paste, put the watered bag so that it does not dry out. Leave it for a few hours.

If the paste has dried and the desired result is not achieved add bleach.

    Hydrogen Peroxide And Baking Soda

    Material

    • EC3 mold solution spray

    Instructions:

First, you should apply a thick layer paste made of baking soda and a little water over the mold. Then, pour 3% hydrogen peroxide over it. You will see that it begins to fizz, which means that destroying the old and stubborn mold starts.

Accelerate the process by scraping the deposits with a scrub brush. Once you have removed all the mold, you should dry the area and add the EC3 mold solution spray over it.

    Problems With Water Supply

If you see that you have problems with the water supply, call a professional to repair it. A professional can see with the help of a thermal imager what is done inside the walls and where water is collected. It is better to eliminate this problem in the initial stages than to fight it after a while
