Remedy Air Treatment Dispenser
The battery operated Remedy air treatment dispenser slowly emits a safe, odorless concentrate of citrus and vegetable extracts over 8 to 10 weeks. This continuously and safely bio-balances your environment to reduce the levels of airborne mold spores and mycotoxins.
One dispenser & refill is perfect for a standard 12 x 12 room, but typically covers up to 400 sq ft. The dispenser can be hung on the wall or set on a flat surface.
What I love about the Remedy air treatment dispenser is that there is no burning candle to worry about. Seeing that I am involved in cat rescue, candles arent always ideal. This would hold true for a household with small children.
You can purchase the Remedy Air Treatment Dispenser and Refill here. **Currently out of stock**
Other Ulv Mold Fogging Tips
- I like to put the handheld mold control foggers on the finest mist setting. This offers the most coverage without saturating everything.
- I literally spray everything in my home. The mist is so fine that I havent had any problems spraying electronics with it. It doesnt leave things wet on this setting.
- Not only do I spray all the furnishings, I spray the counters, walls, ceilings, floors, window coverings, beddings, inside closets, etc
- Since vehicles can become easily contaminated, I use my mold prevention and mycotoxin removal protocol in my car as well. It takes about five minutes with the fine mist and my car feels wonderful afterwards!
What Is Propylene Glycol Is It Safe
Propylene Glycol is a viscous, colorless liquid, which is nearly odorless and possesses a faintly sweet taste. It belongs to alcohol groups of substances however, it should not be mistaken for ethylene glycol . It is very mixable with a broad range of solvents, including water. In general, glycols are non-irritating, have very low volatility and very low toxicity.
Propylene glycol is also used in various edible items such as coffee-based drinks, sweeteners, and soda. It is a thickener for ice cream, whipped dairy products and doughs. It is used in lotions to prevent the skin from drying and as a carrier in alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Propylene glycol is also used as a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable, and topical formulations.
Most fog machines use a propylene glycol mixture to produce special effects . Many commercial smoke machines use fog juice that consists of food grade propylene glycol with varying amounts of distilled water. The glycols are heated and forced into the atmosphere under pressure to create a fog or haze. Inhalation safety has been demonstrated over 70 years of use in commercial and entertainment activities.

Watt Havenfogger And 400 Watt Mini Havenfogger
Both HavenFogger models offer the same features and work in the same way. The only difference is the wattage, the tank capacity, the heat up time, and the square footage it will cover. As such, I am reviewing these together.
The 1000 Watt HavenFogger features a 0.9 gallon tank capacity and quick 5.5 minute heat up time for an output of 20,000 cfm. This allows you to use one gallon of the HavenFog solution at a time which will cover up to 4,000 square feet.
The 400 Watt Mini HavenFogger features a 0.2 gallon tank capacity and quick 2 minute heat up time for an output of around 4,000 cfm. This allows you to use one pint of the HavenFog at a time which will cover up to 1,000 square feet.
What I Like About Both HavenFogger Models
- Compact thermal fogging machine
- Hanging bracket with mounting hardware for storage
Any Cons?
- The 1000 watt HavenFogger might be heavy for some. It weighs in close to 9 pounds.
1000 Watt HavenFogger vs 400 Watt Mini HavenFogger
While both are good choices, the model you choose really comes down to which you can afford and which you have the patience to use.
While you can use the smaller 400 Watt Mini Fogger in any size home, it will take longer since you can only add 1 quart of HavenFog solution at a time. This means you have to refill it more often and keep a close eye on the tank capacity as you move it from room to room. Since the output is much less than the 1000 watt fogger, it will take more time to fog each room adequately.
The Best Mold Control Fogger Thermal Fogging / Hot Fogging
There are only two thermal foggers that I can honestly recommend. So many of the affordable thermal foggers are cheaply built and dont last for more than 2-3 uses. This is because many of these are designed as party foggers and viewed as only needing a short lifespan. The industrial foggers are all going to be outside of the average persons budget which is why I am not recommending them. Lets take a look at the two thermal foggers I highly recommend.

Does Fogging For Mold Work The Search For A Magic Bullet
You know the saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”? Well, when it comes to mold remediation, this notion is correct 9.9 out of 10 times. There you are facing down two estimates for a remediation project, and theyre completely different: one is on the low-cost side with no demolition, and another on the “wow, thats expensive side and youre busting up my entire house.” Situations like these pop up far too frequently and can leave you with questions like: what is fogging for mold, does it work, and why is it not the standard remediation protocol?
Theyre valid questions! Why pay a lot more for a project when you could only spend a couple of thousand dollars? Thats a lot of money on the line, and like many others, youre probably wondering why theres such a difference in cost and scope of work. It can be tempting to opt for a lower price with less work. But, at what greater cost?
The unfortunate truth is that mold growth hasnt received a lot of time in the spotlight. Think about it: how often do we hear about mold? Its usually only in passing! This current state has led to a long list of misinformation, misguided decisions, and uncertainty.
All of that combined has resulted in failed remediation projects that not only waste money but also lead to the continuation of adverse health effects due to exposure. Understanding issues such as fogging for mold can help ensure that your home is a safe indoor environment for both you and your family.

How It Works Home Fogging For Mold
Hot fogging allows you to fill the entire volume of space within a home or office without getting anything wet. The hot fog rises and fills the entire space. Cabinets and drawers should be opened during the fogging process in order to aid in reaching everything in the household.
Chemicals or all-natural active ingredients can be delivered with fog to great effect. For example, professionals use fogging to apply disinfectants for cleaning projects, pesticides to eliminate pests the environment, and to deodorize or neutralize troubling smells. Fogging is the means used by many food and quality manufacturers, which require disinfection or cleaning after a production run. This eliminates the need to have entire production lines stripped down and individually clean each part in order for the disinfectants to reach all surfaces of the equipment. If the disinfectant is delivered with fog, a complete strip down is not required and the process of disinfection can be done very quickly and efficiently. The main issue for manufacturers and producers using chemicals or active ingredients in fog is that the is chemical must be safe to use, if people are in the area when fogging occurs, and for any microscopic residues to remain safe.
The Fogger And Fogging Solution I Use
The fogger I am using now and have returned to after trying a few other models is the EC3 Sanitizer Fogger. You can find it in the Micro Balance Health Products store. Other foggers I have used and liked are the Vectorfog C100 ULV Electric Fogger and the Fogmaster Tri-Jet 6208. All three of these foggers are relatively lightweightâthe Fogmaster is the heaviest, all require only a regular power outlet to do their thing, and can easily be carried around and held with one hand, even when filled with one gallon of fogging solution. I like the EC3 Sanitizer Fogger best because it is easy to control the droplet size with the small dial on the side of the tankâI like a finer mist for larger rooms with high ceilings and a medium mist when I am more concentrated on fogging a certain object, like a couch, and because I can set it on the floor or on a table in a room and swivel the head with one hand. This allows me to direct the fog up to the ceiling or at the corner of the opposite side of the room with ease. It provides a droplet size of 10â50 microns, with a droplet throw of 15 feet, and coverage of 60-80 square feet. This is more than enough for the rooms in our home.

How To Use A Bomb Fogger
Using a mold fogger is simple and just requires a little planning and patience.
- Clear out any items that could be damaged by the mist and moisture.
Mold fogging solutions are safe for clothes and contents, but always take precautions with extra precious items.
Better safe than sorry. Remove items such as electronics, papers, instruments, other important objects before misting.
- Fill your fogger with the fogging solution. You may want to do this outside. Some are messy to fill!
- You are using a mist, so a lower mist setting will be less likely to damage your home or your things. A stronger stream could definitely damage items that are sensitive to moisture. Experiment with the spray settings outside if possible before starting your job.
- A stationary fogger just needs to be set up with the head positioned to best cover the room. Turn it on for the desired time and let it go! Dont set the timer for too long. When done, turn it off and let it sit while the fog settles.
- For a handheld mold fogger, just start spraying into each air vent. Put It on the finest mist setting for contents and spray until everything is covered with a light mist. Be sure to spray ceilings, walls, window sills, and floors.
- After fogging, open windows, turn on fans, and let the area dry.
Damage Buddy Tips
If you want to check the effectiveness of the fogger you can test the air in the area a few days after you do the treatment. Simple test kits are found at most hardware stores.

Do Mold Foggers Really Work
Because most mold spores are microscopic, when you find those fuzzy splotches on the wall, you see only a fraction of the mold thats actually there. That means cleaning the visible mold wont always get rid of all the mold. Mold foggers are designed to help with this problem by applying a mold-killing mist to a broad area. While these devices offer some benefits, theyre only a small and optional part of an effective mold remediation plan.

What Cold Fogging Can And Should Be Used For
When it comes to mold, fogging has some unique benefits:
The first good use for fogging, and also arguably the most controversial, is using it as a helpful cleaning tool for someone who is mold sensitive and who cannot fully control his or her environment. If you read my blog Mold Free Living, you may be familiar with me calling fogging the great mold Band-Aid. The reason I use this term is that, if a person is renting, traveling to a temporary home, or just cannot afford to do all of the remediation required at the time, fogging can be a helpful and temporary Band-Aid to keep mold counts down. Remember, the operative word here is âtemporary.â If the source or the reason for the mold is not fixed or removed , the mold will return and will continue to grow no matter how much fogging is done. In other words, like a Band-Aid, fogging can stop the bleeding. It cannot stop the need for stitches, or major surgery, though. Fogging, when done correctly, which I will get to later, can make things more livable until a better solution, like moving to a mold-free environment, or full-scale, professional mold remediation can occur.
